Non-Medical Disclaimer

Please read this disclaimer carefully. It describes the nature and scope of the non-medical care services provided by A Pearl's Journey Home Care.

Last updated: September 2026

Important: A Pearl's Journey Home Care is a non-medical home care agency. Our caregivers provide personal care, companionship, and daily living support — not medical treatment or skilled nursing services. For medical needs, please consult a licensed healthcare provider or call 911 in an emergency.

1

We Are Not a Medical Provider

A Pearl's Journey Home Care provides non-medical, personal care and companion services only. We are not a licensed medical provider, home health agency, skilled nursing facility, or hospice organization. Nothing we do constitutes the practice of medicine, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or any other licensed healthcare profession.

2

Our Services Do Not Replace Medical Care

The services provided by A Pearl's Journey Home Care — including personal care, hygiene assistance, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation — are intended to support daily living and enhance quality of life. These services are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or care from a licensed healthcare provider. If you or your loved one has a medical condition or health concern, please consult a qualified physician or healthcare professional.

3

No Medical Advice Given

Our caregivers are not authorized to provide medical advice, administer medications (unless specifically permitted by applicable state law and documented in the care plan), perform clinical assessments, interpret medical test results, or make medical decisions on behalf of any client. Any health-related information shared by our staff is for general informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as medical guidance.

4

Emergency Situations

In the event of a medical emergency, our caregivers are trained to call 911 and notify the appropriate emergency services immediately. Our staff will not attempt to diagnose or treat a medical emergency. It is the responsibility of the client and their family to ensure that emergency contacts, advance directives, and medical information are kept current and accessible.

5

Medication Reminders

Where permitted by state law and outlined in the client's individual care plan, our caregivers may provide medication reminders — that is, reminding a client that it is time to take their medication. This is not the same as medication administration or management. Caregivers will not handle, prepare, or administer prescription medications unless expressly authorized in writing and in compliance with applicable regulations.

6

Limitation of Liability

A Pearl's Journey Home Care shall not be held liable for any health outcomes, medical complications, or adverse events that arise from a client's pre-existing medical conditions, failure to seek appropriate medical care, or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of our caregivers. Our caregivers act in good faith and within the scope of their non-medical role at all times.
